The Community Experience Programme (CEP) is the "Way In" to the Osho Leela
Community. You can use it to drop in for a few days or weeks, whenever you need some
Leela energy, or as the first step to take towards actually living here. It involves
about 6 hours work a day, typically house-care (cleaning and tidying), cooking,
building maintenance, or gardening. There are optional meditations
most weekdays and there may be the chance to join in with workshops at weekends. You
get one day off per week and Wednesdays are "Community Days" (see later). Roughly once a
month there is Community Meditation Week, when community members do 3 Osho
meditations daily.
Whilst you're on CEP you will stay in a dorm with 2 or 3 other CEP
participants of the same gender. The CEP currently has three longer-term community
members with therapy and meditation experience over it - Devaraj, Amura and Sanjula.
They are available on a daily basis to answer questions or just chat.
The CEP is a gently-held program. Like most Osho centres we see the community
as a supportive environment for us to go deeper into finding out who we are. There
are weekly sharings, and the CEP leaders will support and encourage you to overcome
internal barriers that block you being more fully yourself. Much of the structure and
meditations that you find here were part of daily life in the original Osho community
in Pune. We are an authentic Osho centre, and we like everyone to commit to
deepening self-awareness, love, and friendship.
The CEP costs £30 a week to be on (approx €40/week), or £5 a day, including
food + dormitory accommodation. The CEP is sometimes not available during Festivals,
or over Christmas, but otherwise runs for the rest of the year.
Arrival: If it's your first time on CEP please try to arrive
on a Monday, between 10am and 5pm. We can also receive new people onto the CEP on
Tuesdays and Thursdays but we do prefer Mondays if you can do it.
We recommend trying the program for a week
at first, to see how you get on, but you can also just come for a day or two if you
prefer.
It is also possible to be on part-time CEP: 3 hours of work a day (you decide
whether morning or afternoon) + help with dishes once a day. The cost is £20 a day,
with food and dormitory accommodation.
A Typical Week-day:
07.00 - Osho Dynamic Meditation (optional, except on Fridays when
all CEPs take part)
08.00 - Showers and breakfast
09.00 - Morning Meeting. Dancing, "Inner Smile" meditation (15
mins) and hugging.
Then we gather in a circle and to appreciate new arrivals and anyone leaving and
finish with a group "power move."
09.35 - Work
11.00 - Coffee break (20 mins)
11.20 - Work
13.00 - Lunch followed by dishes, then break
15.00 - Work
16.30 - Tea break (20 mins)
18.00 - Emotional Release session, or a meditation (optional)
19.00 - Dinner, followed by dishes
20.30 - Optional Evening Session or free time.
At the weekend Leela usually hosts either its own workshops or has "outside
bookings." Quite often there is the chance to do some sessions in these and usually
this is a time to meet new people and make new connections. You can check our
calendar and see which groups will be on whilst you're here!
Community Day is nearly always on a Wednesday. It's a day when
community matters are the priority. Usually we start with everyone doing a short
version of the Humaniversity AUM Meditation. This lasts one and a half hours and is a
full-on interactive group process.
Click here to see a short video about the AUM. After this we have showers, breakfast,
and then sharings, sometimes with the whole community together, but more usually in
smaller groups - CEPs, Core Group, etc. In the afternoon, if there's not work that
needs to be urgently done, we go for a trip somewhere, or have a massage afternoon, or
maybe sauna together. Community Days are a chance for everyone to come closer.
When you arrive you will be given an introductory talk, a walk-round, and a buddy. This is an experienced member of the community to whom you can go with any questions. He or she
makes sure you are OK day to day.
CEP Commitment
Whilst you're here on CEP we do expect the following...
* that you be on time for all meditations and work
* that you keep your personal space clean and tidy
* that you take part fully in Community Day
* that you take part in Osho Dynamic Meditation on Friday morning
* that you let us know when you want to come and go
* and that you don't leave your stuff here when you're not here
Please make sure this above is OK for you prior to arriving.
What you need to bring
Bedding is provided. You simply need clothes, a towel, loose clothing for
meditations, and some party gear.
Important Info
If you haven't been on Community Experience Programme before,
it's important to call us first for a quick phone interview with one of the CEP
Managers. You can get them on 01747 821221. We do ask some basic medical questions
prior to joining. Because we have to protect the community from certain highly
infectious viruses, people from high-risk backgrounds will be asked to bring a Hep B
certificate.
Anyone aged 18 or over can apply to be on CEP.
